Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Overview

Horizon Staffing Resources is seeking a dedicated Instructional Assistant to support children in Montgomery County. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about early childhood education and enjoy working in a collaborative, supportive classroom environment. The Instructional Assistant will play an important role in helping young learners develop academically, socially, and emotionally while supporting the classroom teacher in daily activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher with implementing daily lesson plans and age-appropriate activities
• Support children during instructional time, play, and group learning activities
• Help maintain a safe, positive, and engaging classroom environment
• Provide assistance with hygiene needs as necessary (most children are potty trained, though some may require support)
• Supervise children during transitions, meals, and outdoor play
• Assist with classroom organization and preparation of learning materials
• Communicate effectively with the teaching team and site leadership

Requirements

• Previous childcare or classroom experience preferred
• Ability to assist with basic hygiene and care needs
• Dependable, patient, and comfortable working in a fast-paced classroom setting
• Ability to pass all required background checks and clearances
