Horizon Staffing Resources is expanding, and we want YOU to join our team of dedicated paraprofessionals!
Schools in New Brunswick, NJ are seeking seven (7) qualified paraprofessionals to work the current 2025-2026 school year starting ASAP! Paraprofessionals will work in the classroom under the direct supervision of a certified teacher. The main functions of paraprofessionals are assisting the teacher with classroom management, student support, and lesson preparation. The role may consist of providing one-to-one attention to students of special needs in addition to overall classroom assistance and administrative tasks.
The Schedule:
- Monday through Friday – NO WEEKENDS!
- 8:40am to 3:25pm – NO EVENINGS OR NIGHTS!
Responsibilities
What You’ll Do:
- Special Education: work with students of varying disabilities, providing support as indicated in student IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) and/or Behavioral Plans
- Student Support: provide individual support to diverse students such as assisting with tasks, clarifying instructions, and offering encouragement
- Behavioral and Emotional Support: assist individual students in reducing behavioral outbursts, regulate student emotions, and promote non-violent crisis intervention if necessary
- Daily Living Activity Assistance: help students, as needed, with changing or toileting, navigating hallways, and other related tasks
- Administrative Tasks: handle copying, classroom set-up or breakdown, or organizing files
Qualifications
Who You Are:
- Dedicated: committed to providing superior care to students of all ages and needs
- Experienced: have prior childcare background, preferably with special needs
What’s Required:
- 60+ college credits OR
- Associate’s degree or higher OR
- High school diploma with passing ETS ParaPro Exam
