Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant - Hillside, NJ

Are you looking for new work for this upcoming school year? Horizon Staffing Resources may have the perfect opportunity for you as a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant!

Horizon Staffing Resources is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant (LDTC) to be joining a public school for the 2025–2026 school year. The LDTC will work collaboratively with educators, families, and related service providers to assess students, support the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and consult with staff to implement effective instructional strategies. This role will serve students in grades PreK through 6th and operate within a supportive multidisciplinary environment.

Hours/Schedule

Schedule: Monday through Friday

Hours: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Hours may fluctuate)

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct educational assessments and determine students’ learning needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement IEP-driven strategies, modifications, and accommodations.
  • Serve as a member of the Child Study Team, contributing to evaluations, eligibility decisions, and IEP development.
  • Act as case manager for assigned students, ensuring compliance with N.J.A.C. 6A:14 and maintaining communication with families.
  • Consult with staff, parents, and community agencies to support students’ educational progress and coordinate services.
  • Prepare detailed evaluation reports and maintain accurate case documentation.
  • Assist in professional development and training of school staff.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Special Services.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Valid New Jersey Educational Services Certificate with an endorsement as a Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant (LDTC)
  • Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field
  • A minimum of three years of successful full-time teaching experience
  • Familiarity with Realtime IEP software and Genesis student information system (preferred)
  • Must have or be willing to get fingerprinted by the Board of Education.
