Horizon Staffing Resources is expanding, and we want YOU to join our team of dedicated paraprofessionals!
Paraprofessionals will work in the classroom under the direct supervision of a certified teacher. The main functions of paraprofessionals are assisting the teacher with classroom management, student support, and lesson preparation. The role may consist of providing one-to-one attention to students of special needs in addition to overall classroom assistance and administrative tasks.
The Schedule:
- Monday through Friday – NO WEEKENDS!
- Day-time hours – NO EVENINGS OR NIGHTS!
Responsibilities
What You’ll Do:
- Assist with instruction: help teachers implement lessons, provide on-to-one or small group instruction, and adapt materials to diverse learners
- Classroom management: maintain a positive and productive learning environment by monitoring student behaviors and needs
- Special Education: work with students of varying disabilities, providing support as indicated in student IEPs (Individualized Education Programs)
- Student Support: provide individual support to diverse students such as assisting with tasks, clarifying instructions, and offering encouragement
- Administrative Tasks: handle copying, classroom set-up or breakdown, or organizing files
- Daily Living Activity Assistance: help students, as needed, with changing or toileting, navigating hallways, and other related tasks
Qualifications
Who You Are:
- Dedicated: committed to providing superior care to students of all ages and needs
- Experienced: have prior childcare background, preferably with special needs
What’s Required:
- Completed two years post-secondary school, OR
- Possess an associate’s degree or higher, OR
- Passed a state/local assessment, such as the Credential of Competency for Special Education Paraeducators in Pennsylvania
